This fosters a culture of open communication and makes individuals feel valued and understood. The distinction here is active which requires being fully present in that moment.  To not only listen to their words but be curious about the meaning that is being applied.  Also being observant to their tonality and body expression.  Remember words alone only make up 7% of communication.

Avoid using exclusive terms or phrases that may inadvertently exclude or marginalize individuals. Inclusive language is aimed at removing labels attached to race, age, religion, sexual identity, health condition or social status.   4. Provide Constructive Feedback: When providing feedback, focus on constructive criticism and growth opportunities. Frame feedback in a positive and supportive manner, highlighting areas of improvement while also recognizing achievements and progress. Consider the SOS model here - “What I notice you did well …….” (Strength); “Wondering what you could do differently?” (Opportunity) “What I noticed when you do this it had a positive impact on..” (Strength)  The key whenever giving feedback is to be curious, display empathy and focus your intention of helping the other person to grow.
